Where We Are

A lot of Indiana is flat.   In fact, it's so flat that you can pretty much see from Indianapolis to Chicago, except for that one big stand of trees in Lafayette.  

We are in south central Indiana, at the western edge of the south central Indiana highlands.   Our property is tucked in a little hollow and a lot of the prevailing winds go right over us.   [Thank heaven, because the wind and I are not friends.]

You can only really see the contour of the land when there's snow on the ground.   
This pic was taken from our tallest hill looking down toward the barn.    The house is on the other side of the road, just out of sight on the left.    If you blow the pic up, you can just see the beehives at the bottom left.
