Trout Lily

We get loads of these pink and green mottled leaves.    Loads.  

But hardly any blooms.   It's weird. 

Lily found this one so we'd have proof that they actually exist.    Notice the cutleaf toothwort in the background.  

Cool, huh.

  1. I love how your blog inspires me to find out more! I found that the trout lily takes several years to build up enough energy to produce that bloom. Knowing that, I would now never pick one of those blooms to add to my wildflower bouquet!
