Holding on to Summer

© Robin Edmundson, watercolor wildflower collection.
Each is 5 x 7 inches, framed to 8 x 10 inches.  $95 each.

I've been working on a few small pieces to bring the Unitarian Holiday Art Fair this weekend and found my mind back in late summer, walking the roadsides, appreciating the wildflowers around here.

I painted more chicory [L], echinacea [C] SOLD, and goldenrod [R].  I've got some daisies on the easel to finish later and can already feel the pull to do more of these.

Doing these small florals is teaching me to practice, to listen to the paint, to play, to try again, to work in short bursts where I can come and go without bullying the piece.   It feels nice.

If you're around the Unitarian Church [Fee Lane at the 46 Bypass] tomorrow or Saturday,  please stop in and say hello.

Unitarian Church Art Fair

Next weekend is my last art fair of the year and it's one of my favorites.

Saturday, Dec 1, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

I'll be in Booth #1, just inside the main hall [to the right].   Please stop in and say hello!

I'll have original watercolors, prints and a few notecards.

I'll be bringing one of my favorite winter pieces.   I love that our winters have a lot of color, even though the woods are gray.   We have a lot of green through the whole year, though in winter, the golds and oranges step up and take center stage.

So beautiful!

Holiday Shopping

'Tis the season of holiday art fairs and Unitarian Art Fair and Bazaar is one of the best ones in Bloomington, Indiana.  And it's coming up next weekend!  [Hours in the pic at left]

It's a fantastic little art show, highlighting local artists and let me tell you our local artists are amazing.   You can find glass, paintings, pottery, fiber, mosaic, wood ....  The hardest part is choosing.

We'll be there with bells on, so come on by and see us.  I'll have hand dyed and handwoven scarves and shawls, hand painted silks, hand made soap and handwoven washcloths and towels.  [This is not a yarn show but if you need some yarn, let me know ahead of time and I can bring it for you to pick up.]   We look forward to seeing you!

Ruffle Scarves

I've been playing around with ruffles in my weaving.

You weave them flat.

Then wet finish them.

Then you have ruffles!

I heart ruffles!
If you didn't see these in person at the BSWG Show and Sale last weekend, then you can come and get  one at my next show!
