I don't know about you, but I've been thinking about spring.  And pink blooming trees.  And this barn that lives down the way from us.   I decided to get a head start on the season so here's the first of a series of barns and pink trees.  Watch for more.

Henbit Blooming #2

This is a second version of the scene I posted a few days ago.   The first was a bit too pink.  I toned down the fields a bit and used cerulean in the sky instead of cobal teal.   I'm still learning how to put different types of texture in a scene.  The sides of the road were my focus here.

Pink Roses

The roses have been spectacular this year.   This pink one blooms at the roadside and this year we noticed that we had not one, but three of them.   

Seriously adorable.

Look how cute those rosebuds are!

If you've still got some roses, try making some Rose Petal Jam.  

Or harvest the petals when at full bloom and after the dew has dried off of them.   Spread them out on paper and let them dry until they're crisp. Use for potpourri.

If you're in a humid climate like mine, then dry them until they're leathery, and combine them with some rock salt and dried orris root [powder or chopped].  That potpourri will last for 50 years or more.
