
Mom saw one of these on one of our dogwood trees a couple of weeks ago. That's the second(ish) time we've seen one here!
HINT: There's a color in the name.
Answer: Brown Creeper (Certhia americana)

In real life these look like a cross between a wren and a nuthatch. They have a light eyebrow and curved beak like the Carolina Wrens, but they cling to the tree and act like nuthatches. Ours must have been moving south just ahead of the Icepocolypse of 2011.
