Volunteer Squash #2

I was delighted to find that one of my volunteers was a mini white pumpkin.   It set a dozen or so fruit before the heat got to it and did it in.   The last set of 105 degree days fried the poor thing.

We were able to get about a dozen of them before it died.   I can't wait to use these for fall decorating.

  1. *weep* Still suffering from squash envy. But I'm glad you got a harvest! If you do anything unique and fun with the pumpkins in the way of decorating, please post about it!

  2. Dang...if it's not the vine borers, it's the heat (or the raccoons...grrr). I'm surprised any of us get anything out of our squash/melon/pumpkin plants. Glad you managed to harvest a few! :)

  3. Aww, I love mini white pumpkins. I'm glad you got to save a few. I love this idea from Martha last year. Makes me giggle to look at them: http://www.marthastewart.com/275573/pumpkin-carving-and-decorating-ideas/@center/276965/halloween
