No Dumping

Dumping out here is a real problem.  It's infuriating to wake up one morning and find a couple of bags of garbage in your creek, just out of sight of the house.  Beer cans pop up like wildflowers.

Wherever there is a ravine close to the road, there's a pile of trash in it.  TVs, washers, tires, tires, tires, and other household garbage.  We've cleaned 40 bags of trash like this off our place.

We see signs like this around.  I love this one.  [Not that it did much good....] Blow the pic up to really appreciate how long the sign has been on the tree.

This is what's at the foot of the tree in the ravine below.

Heaven only knows how long that stuff has been there.  Tires tend to look fresh for a very very long time.

  1. Someone recently dumped their bag of trash halfway up my 87 year old Mom's driveway - and this is in a city of about 60k population. How much more effort it must take to lug this stuff around looking for a spot than to just dispose of it properly. These folks are sick, sickening, and stupid.

  2. It's all around us as well. Tires, appliances, scrap metal... And all of us with wells, hellooooooooooo, where do you think all that crap goes?! It enrages me that humans can be that dumb. Sometimes I can't believe I'm the same species as people who can do things like that.

At the village here there's a community mailbox and the municipality mentioned a lot of trash/mail was just dumped all over around it... Guess what? Being told to pick up after themselves, people left MORE crap on the ground. And were talking mail. With their NAMES on it. Hell.
